(More customer reviews)My biggest question about this product was the physical dimensions. It's a little bigger than a Wii remote. The trimming unit stands 5.5" tall. Fantastic weight and balance makes it feel natural in hand.The clipper heads remove easily for a more thorough cleaning and brushing.
PROS:
Ceramic blade: it looks like white plastic at first, but you'll find it to be more durable than the standard steel most clippers use.
Cordless: holds a charge and is super easy to maneuver around your head.
Accessories: tons of them. Every setting, attachment and brush you'll need to make your head look good. Ironically, this is the opposite of 'Bed Head.'
CONS:
The price. I paid almost half of what is shown here, so shop around.

SCHICK FX DIAMOND RAZOR & 2 BLADES Review

(More customer reviews)I get a very good shave from this razor. I like the narrow flexible cartridge design, which fits very well on my face. The FX Diamond blades really do last noticeably longer than most other blades, all blades in general and earlier Tracer blades in particular.
I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because I personally prefer old-school single blade razors (double edge, single edge, and injector), and because the blade holding parts are plastic, and not as durable as on a razor like the Trac II.
If you want to use a modern cartridge razor, but don't see the point of the great blade escalation race (I've seen a 6-blade razor), this one is well worth trying. Blades should be available for some years yet.

It takes about twice as long to shave with the replacement heads and they don't seem to cut as smooth as norelco blades. And you'll notice that five o'clock shadow showing up sooner with the replacement head. Stick with the Norelco replacement blades.

He loves to have his hair High and tight. I switch out blades from #1,#000,#0000,#00000 to fade his sides! If your trying to leave more hair use the #1 with a guard attachment of the desired length you would like to remain on the head. Oster Rocks. You can use universal guard attachments if you don't want to use the Oster brand.

(More customer reviews)There seems to be some confusion over this product. I, too have a Braun FreeControl washable 1775. As best as I could research the matter, both on Amazon.con and on Braun's own site, this seemed to be the correct replacement screen and cutter block, in spite of indications to the contrary in some of the feedback. The replacement that I received came in a package labeled, "Braun 2000 Series, cruZer^3/cruZer." There was a paper label stuck across the top of the package that read: "For 1000/2000 FreeControl&Cruzer." The cutter block was identical to that of the FreeControl 1775, and the replacement screen unit was identical except in color: My original screen unit consisted of a black collar attached to a black foil mounting that held the metal foil; the replacement part came as a gray collar attached to a blue foil mounting. If the color is an issue, the foil mounting snaps out of the collar easily, so you can use your original black collar with the new foil mounting. (The collar doesn't wear out.) Hope this helps to clarify the matter.

Gillette Manual Cartridge, Fusion Review

(More customer reviews)I've been very happy with the Mach III for the past few years --but then a Fusion razor and cartridge came in the mail and I figured I'd give it a try.
I'm probably a good one to test razors... see my photograph--not only do I shave my face, (though I typically have a goatee), but I also shave my entire head as well.
I've been using the same Fusion blade now --daily on my face, and just about every third day on my head-- and despite some claims to the contrary, it's still going strong... after almost three weeks!!
Why has my blade lasted this long, despite my pretty heavy usage? EVERY time I shave, after thoroughly rinsing the blade, I GIVE IT A QUICK SPRAY WITH SHOWER CLEANER. (Such as "Clean Shower" or any of the no-wipe cleaners that you spray after using the shower.)
Then I set the razor so it's standing with the cartridge end down.
This does two things. The shower cleaner ensures that no film of water remains to dry on the edges of the blades, leaving spots for microscopic rusty areas to form,) and standing the razor blade-side-down makes sure that gravity takes any debris or water that MIGHT be left on the blade, DOWN and AWAY from the blade edge, since the edge of the blades face UP when you have the cartridge down.
Prior to doing this on the Mach III blades, I'd also get about 3 or 4 good shaves out of a blade... but once I tried it, I got as many as 30. It makes a HUGE difference! I should also point out that I almost never get nicks and cuts. (I've been shaving my head for about 4 years, and I think I've nicked it shaving ONCE... .part of the reason is because I'm very careful about using my blade-cleaning technique.)Note to Gillette... Send me a lifetime supply of Fusion cartridges and I'll consider removing the blade-life extending tip from this review! ;-)
